Jenny’s story

Your support means patients like Jenny are not alone when it matters most.

"Lockdown was incredibly isolating for me and I'd been on my own for four months. My family don't live near me and because I was shielding I was completely cut off. During that time I lost the ability to walk – I had to hold on to the radiators to get around the house and for a time I couldn't get out of bed. I was starting to feel quite desperate about how I'd cope for much longer.

And then I came into the Inpatient Unit at St Peter's. It was an enormous relief.

The staff here have been so good to me. I'm not alone any more. I'd completely lost my confidence and now I have it back. It's only now when I look back that I realise just how lonely and vulnerable I felt. I can't believe such kindness exists, it's quite an inspiration."

Thank you for entering the Grand Christmas Raffle and helping patients like Jenny.
